Stephen Haupt – Pastor/Elder
My Story
I grew up in a God-loving, church-going family in Ferguson, Missouri. When I was six years old, I came to realize I was a sinner who desperately needed forgiveness and salvation. One night, my dad knelt with me on the floor of my bedroom, and I asked God to save me. To this day, I continue to grow in my understanding of the depravity of my sin and my desperate need for God’s grace through Jesus Christ.
I went to college in Rolla, picking up degrees in mathematics and education, married Sandy, my high school sweetheart and the love of my life, and began a public school teaching career that spanned forty-two years, the bulk of which were spent in the small town of Neosho, in the southwest corner of Missouri.
When I retired from full-time teaching in 2012, I asked God to send me somewhere I could be used by Him. In March of 2013, we moved to Wentzville; we visited Peine Ridge Church the following month and have been here ever since. Two years later, in November 2015, I became the eldest elder. Serving as a pastor of PRC is a privilege I don’t take lightly.
Sandy and I have two children, Kristen Tignor of Troy, Missouri, and Timothy Haupt of Nixa, Missouri, and a total of eight grandchildren.
Feature Box Title
My hope for Peine Ridge Church is that we will honor God with our lives, that we will treasure Jesus above all else, that we will be a transmitter of the gospel to the people of Wentzville, that we will sacrificially love and serve the hurting in our community, and that we will send people throughout the world to share the good news of Christ.
