Nick Ramsey – Deacon
My Story
I grew up in a small, southern Missouri town. My family regularly attended a local, non-denominational Christian church, so I grew up hearing and knowing the Gospel from a young age. When I was in second grade, I followed the example of many of my peers and was baptized, but in truth, I had not yet truly put my faith in Christ.
Throughout the rest of my youth, I lived in a way that clearly demonstrated that I was far from God, caught up in countless sins that were destructive to both myself and those around me. I continued trying to live this double life in college, being involved with a Christian organization on campus but still clinging tightly to my vices.
By God’s grace, I met my wife, Katie, through that organization. We began dating in 2004, were married in 2005, and had our first child in 2006. Although I was still trying to look as though I were a “good Christian man,” I remained very much a slave to my sin. Fights and resentment were common in our home. Eventually, I received an ultimatum: attend marriage counseling, or we would separate. God used my stubbornness and pride to motivate me to go counseling; I was NOT going to fail at this marriage thing!
Our Christian counselor helped us to work through many of our issues, and I continued to see him regularly to work through many problems that were mine alone. Through this time, God was was repairing my marriage and correcting my thinking, but most of all, He was calling me to Himself. I was convicted of the life of sin I was living, and in 2010, I was baptized again, for real this time.
Since then, though I cannot claim perfection, I have continued to grow in my faith and to pursue honoring God with my life.
Katie and I have been married since 2006, and we have four children.

My Hope for Peine Ridge Church
My hope for PRC is that it will continue to be a church that honors God, preaches the Gospel, and genuinely loves one another and the communities we are in.
