Scripture – Luke 2:1-20
Luke 2:9 says that as the Shepherds were out in the field on the night that Jesus was born, “… an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear.”
Fear is a surprisingly common theme in Scripture. We all live with fear. This fear that we’re all born with and carry through life is, at its core, a fear of God’s judgment for your sin. The fear of God drawing near and exposing our guilt is the fear from which all other fears flow. In this message, Pastor Nathan calls it our “Great Fear.” But, as he shows us in this passage, The Good News of Christmas has the power to transform your Great Fear into your greatest Peace and Joy!
