THE PEINE RIDGE CHURCH LOGO

The logo is very intentional in it’s design. It’s purpose it not merely to serve as an identifying marker for the church, but to also serve as a visual means of communicating our purpose for existing as a church; namely, that Peine Ridge Church lives to exalt Christ by equipping Christians and engaging our community with the love and truth of Jesus Christ. We believe that the Word of God is the firm foundation on which the Church is built, therefore the lower, foundational portion of the logo conveys the idea of an open Bible, facing away from the viewer, who looks to the Word being preached to them. Even the borders of the logo are intentional; the brown, weathered exterior frame suggests that although the (universal) Church is often battered by the world, she has, and will, ultimately endure to the end. The interior borders that narrow to a point are a subtle reminder of the nails that held Christ to the cross, while the wider border to the left represents the pages of the book that are yet to be turned, as well as rising higher than the opposite side to convey the idea of a ridge. While these things are intended to point to some general things about the church, our desire is for the logo to communicate the vision of the church very specifically, so to that end the logo is divided into three main sections.

EXALT CHRIST

The yellow and white area represents our desire to exalt, glorify, lift up, and magnify the name of Jesus Christ above all other names. This is our overarching purpose and all other things must be subordinated to it. Therefore, this area is the largest, uppermost and most prominent section of the logo. The other two areas below it represent the means which God has given us to accomplish this end.

EQUIP CHRISTIANS

The green area is representative of the continual, lively growth that must take place in the life of every follower of Christ as they are equipped by the Holy Spirit to achieve their primary goal of exalting Christ in all things. With this area we hope to convey our desire to see a constant, vigorous, striving growth toward that goal in every Christian we fellowship with, in the same way that young plants fight their way through the soil and push towards the sunlight in the springtime.

ENGAGE OUR COMMUNITY

The reddish area with the subtle outline of the Cross visible in the center represents the cover of the Bible, which is the Word of God and displays the Son of God as the Word made flesh. This Word is the only hope we have of engaging our community with love or truth because it is by this Word that we define both love and truth. We believe that all people are already being engaged by this Word, whether they realize or accept this engagement or not. The crimson that is splattered on the cover is a vivid reminder that the focus of this hope that we extend to the world is the blood of Jesus for the forgiveness of sins.
